창세 전부터 계셨고 세상의 처음과 끝을 주관하시는 아버지 하나님. 매일 아침 산행을 할 때마다 자연의 아름다움에 감탄하면서 주님의 놀라운 솜씨를 찬양합니다. 이름도 모르는 여러 초목들과 그 동산 안에서 뛰노는 여러 동물들을 보면서 감탄하지 않을 수가 없습니다. 대자연은 옛적부터 그대로인데 나그네인 우리들은 그저 왔다가는 존재에 지나지 않습니다. 미물과 별 차이없는 우리 인간들을 사랑하사 놀라운 기적을 베푸시니 그저 감사할 따름입니다. 우리로 하여금 예수 그리스도를 알게 하시고 그 안에 살게 하시는 은혜에 감사를 드립니다. 찬양과 영광과 존귀와 경배를 세세무궁록 받으시옵소서.

인간인 우리들을 너무나 사랑하사 우리들의 죄를 대속하기 위해 자신의 독생자 예수 그리스도까지 십자가에서 죽이시어 철저한 사랑을 보여주신 아버지 하나님. 사사기에서 보듯이 주님의 말씀을 듣는 일보다 우리의 뜻대로 행하는 데 익숙한 우리들을 구원하시려고 가장 소중한 독생자를 내어주기까지 한 그 사랑을 우리는 이해할 수 없습니다. 또한 상습적인 죄와 허물로 가득찬 우리들이 회개할 때 한없이 용서해주시는 그 사랑을 우리는 도저히 이해할 수 없습니다. 우리는 닭 울기 전 세 번이나 예수님을 부인한 베드로보다 더 악하고 가식적인 사람들입니다. 아니, 어쩌면 회계에 밝은 가룟 유다보다 더 나은 점이 하나도 없게 보입니다. 자신의 이익을 위해서라면 수단과 방법을 가리지 않는 세상사람들이 바로 저희들입니다. 구별된 자로서의 성도라기보다는 극히 이기적이고 계산에 밝으며 예수님이 우선순위에서 멀리 떨어져 있음을 부인할 수 없습니다. 세상을 살면서 악한 생각, 거친 말과 위선적 행동이 더 쌓여감을 저희는 봅니다. 세상적으로 볼 때에 죄인 중의 괴수라는 고백을 한 바울이 바로 우리들입니다. 이 곤궁한 저희들은 어찌해야 하는지요?

저희가 도저히 암흑의 터널에서 헤맬 때 가까이 한 빛이 있음을 깨닫습니다. 저희는 아무 공로가 없지만 하나님이 먼저 손을 내미사 예수 그리스도를 빛으로 우리에게 주셨습니다. 길이요 진리요 생명이신 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 우리에게 살 길이 열렸습니다. 이 세상에서 참 희망을 가지고 살 수 있게 할 뿐만 아니라 예수님의 부활로 우리도 죽음의 권세를 이기고 부활의 소망도 갖게 해주셨습니다. 죄의 고백과 회개로 천국의 시민권을 얻게 되었고 암울한 과거의 부끄러운 죄와 허물의 기억에서 빠져나올 수 있게 되었습니다. 이제는 또한 아버지께서 보내시는 성령을 받게 되어 세상 속에서 혼자 결정하는 것이 아니라 순간순간 하나님이 원하는 길을 갈 수 있게 되었습니다. 이전에는 세상사는 것이 의미가 없었지만 이제는 내 안에 계신 주님과 함께 동행함으로 주 안에서 외롭지 않고 항상 즐겁고 희망이 가득찬 생활을 할 수 있게 되었습니다.

부활절을 맞아 어둠의 과거를 잊고 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 따라 청지기의 삶을 살기를 원합니다. 주님 앞에 우리의 모든 허식과 위선을 내려놓기를 원합니다. 주님이 우리 생활에서 우선순위가 되기를 원합니다. 나의 모든 행동거지를 주장하사 주님만을 바라보고 달려가게 하옵소서. 세상적인 모든 지식을 비우고 주님의 말씀으로 우리를 채워주소서. 매일매일 주님 안에서 거듭나게 하여 주시고 궁극적으로 부활의 소망을 가지고 날마다 희망찬 내일을 살아가게 하옵소서. 모든 말씀을 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

나는 부활이요 생명이다

부활주일입니다.

예수님이 세상 죄를 지고 십자가에서 죽으셨습니다.

무덤에 장사되었다가 3일 만에 부활했습니다.

여러분 사람들이 알기를 원하는 정말 예수님이 부활했느냐? 아니냐? 부활이 사실이냐?

아니냐? 그래서 부활을 믿어야 하느냐? 않느냐?는 그리 중요하지 않습니다. 왜요?

사람들이 그리고 내가 부활을 믿어야 하는가? 에 관계없이 예수님이 부활했습니다.

예수님이 죽음을 이기시고 부활하신 것은 부인 할 수 없는 사실입니다. 그러기에 내가

예수님의 부활을 믿지 않겠다고 예수님의 부활이 없는 것이 아닙니다. 왜요?

예수님의 부활은 역사적인 사건이고 사실이기 때문입니다.

여기에는 두 가지 이유가 있습니다.

첫째 오늘 읽은 11장 나사로의 사건입니다.

나사로가 다시 살아 난 사건은 요한복음에만 있습니다. 이 사건은 예수님이 십자가에 죽기 이전 몇 주일 전에 예루살렘 근처 베니니에서 일어났습니다. 나사라고 죽은 지 4일이 지나서 썩은 시체로 변했습니다. 그런데 예수니이 나사로가 다시 살아 나게 역사했습니다.

요한 12:1절 유월절 엿새 전에 예수께서 베다니에 이르시니 이곳은 예수께서 죽은 자

가운데서 살리신 나사로의 있는 곳이라

당시 이 사건은 역사적인 사건이었습니다. 여러분 한번 생각해 보세요. 죽은 사람이 다시 살아 났다! 해외토픽감입니다. 이런 일이 없습니다.

그런데 일어났습니다. 당시 베나디와 예루살렘에 난리가 났습니다.

그래서 성경이 이렇게 말씀합니다.

요한 12:9절 유대인의 큰 무리가 예수께서 여기 계신줄을 알고 오니 이는 예수만 위함이

아니요 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 나사로도 보려 함이러라 10절 대제사장들이 나사로까지

죽이려고 모의하니 11절 나사로 까닭에 많은 유대인이 가서 예수를 믿음이러라

무슨 말입니까?

당시에 수많은 사람들이 나사로를 다시 살려내신 예수님을 만나기 위해서 베다니로 왔습니다. 이것만이 아닙니다. 6일 전에 죽었다가 다시 살아난 나사로를 보기 위해서 베다니에 왔습니다. 그래서 사람들이 다시 살아 난 나사로를 보고 예수님을 믿기 시작했습니다. 이 상황을 본 대제사장들이 예수님만이 아니라 나사로도 죽이자고 회의를 했습니다.

여러분 나사로가 죽은 지 4일 만에 다시 살아 난 것은 사실입니다. 진실입니다.

그런데 여기에서 한 가지 이런 질문이 생깁니다.

이 사건은 사복음서 중에서 요한복음에만 있습니다. 그 이유가 무엇일까?

예수님은 나사로가 다시 살아난 기적사건에, 역사의 현장에 많은 사람들을 참여시킵니다.

당시 다시 살아 난 나사로, 그의 누나 마르다와 마리아, 12명의 제자들과 예수님을 따른 또 다른 제자들과 여인들, 그리고 베다니에 살고 있는 사람들입니다.

예수님은 나사로를 살리시면서 죽음을 이기는 사건, 부활의 기적을 두 눈으로 확실하게 체험하게 역사했습니다. 왜요? 예수님 자신이 부활이요 생명이시기 때문입니다.

부활이며 생명이신 예수님, 나만이 이 세상 어느 누구도 할 수 없는 하나님의 기적을 할 수 있다!를 세상 사람들에게 보여 주셨습니다. 왜요? 예수님이 십자가에서 죽지만 내가 나사로를 다시 살린 것처럼 부활이며 생명이신 내가 죽음을 이기고 부활한다는 미리 보여 주시고 부활을 확증해 주셨습니다. 그러면서 예수님은 나사로를 죽음을 이기고 다시 살아난 사람으로 기적의 사람으로 살게 했습니다.

여러분 그렇습니다. 부활하신 예수님이 사망권세를 이기십니다.

두 번째 이유는 요한복음입니다.

요한복음은 사복음서 중에서 제일 마지막으로 쓰여 진 말씀입니다. 예수님 당시에 수많은 제자들이 예수님의 부활을 두 눈으로 보았습니다. 사도행전 1장에 주님이 부활하신 후 40여일 동안 주님과 함께 살았습니다.

그런데 제자들이 한 명, 두 명, 로마의 기독교 박해로 순교했습니다. 시간이 지나면서 세상에 남아 있는 제자들이 사라지기 시작했습니다. 베드로, 야고보, 사도 바울까지 순교의 이슬로 사라지면서 제자들이 전해 주는 복음의 증인들의 증언을 들을 수 없게 되었습니다.

그러자 시간이 지나면서 소아시아에 세워진 여러 교회 안에서 성도들의 믿음이 흔들리기

시작했습니다.

여러분 이런 것입니다. 교회 안의 성도들 사이에 이런 질문이 생겼습니다.

예수님이 부활했다! 이렇게 말하면, 여기에 이렇게 질문했습니다.

당신이 두 눈으로 예수님이 부활하신 것을 보았어? 당신이 그 자리에 있었어?

이 질문에 자신있게 대답 할 사람들이 하나도 없었습니다. 왜요?

당시 성도들은 예수님이 부활하신 그 현장에 있지 않았습니다.

단지 제자들이 자신들에게 전해 준 말만 듣고 부활을 믿었습니다.

혹 제자들이 이렇게 질문하고 논쟁하는 자리에 있었다면, 그래 내가 두 눈으로 보았소.

내가 예수님 부활의 증인이라고 말하고 이 말을 들을텐데!

시간이 지나면서 부활의 증인들이었던 제자들이 사라지고 성도들이 믿고 있었던 부활의 믿음이 흔들리기 시작했습니다.

여러분 이런 상황을 예수님이 너무나 잘 알고 계셨습니다.

그래서 이렇게 말씀했습니다.

요한 20:27절 도마에게 이르시되 네 손가락을 이리 내밀어 내 손을 보고 네 손을 내밀어

내 옆구리에 넣어보라 그리하고 믿음 없는 자가 되지 말고 믿는 자가 되라

29절 예수께서 가라사대 너는 나를 본 고로 믿느냐 보지 못하고 믿는 자들은 복되도다

하시니라 31절 오직 이것을 기록함은 너희로 예수께서 하나님의 아들 그리스도이심을

믿게 하려 함이요 또 너희로 믿고 그 이름을 힘입어 생명을 얻게 하려 함이니라

여러분 예수님은 죽은 나사로를 다시 살리시면서 이렇게 말씀했습니다.

25절 나는 부활이요 생명이니 나를 믿는 자는 죽어도 살겠고

26 무릇 살아서 나를 믿는 자는 영원히 죽지 아니하리니 이것을 네가 믿느냐?

다시 주님이 말씀했습니다.믿음 없는 자가 되지 말고 믿는 자가 되라.

너는 나를 본 고로 믿느냐 보지 못하고 믿는 자들은 복되다.

이 말씀은 예수님이 당시 초대교회 성도들에만 하신 말씀이 아니라

21세기 현재 요한복음을 읽는 세상 모든 성도들에게 그리고 나에게 하신 말씀입니다.

네가 부활을 믿느냐?

예수님의 부활이 확실하다는 것을 믿게 하기 위해서 요한복음 11장이 기록되었습니다.

여러분 부활이 무엇입니까? 예수님이 십자가에서 죽아 무덤에 장사되었습니다.

나사로도 죽어 무덤에 장사되었습니다.

17절 예수께서 와서 보시니 나사로가 무덤에 있은지 이미 나흘이라

요한 19:40절 예수의 시체를 가져다가 유대인의 장례법대로 그 향품과 함께 세마포로 쌌더라

1) 예수님이 죽었습니다. 2) 주님이 죽은 지 3일이 지났습니다.

3) 세마포로 만든 수의를 입혀 돌 두덤에 장사했습니다.

예수님이 십자가에서 죽어 무덤 속으로 들어가셨습니다. 부활이며 생명이신 예수님이

돌무덤 속으로, 죽음 안으로 들어갔습니다. 아니 부활이신 예수님은 죽음의 세력 안으로,

사망 안으로 반드시 들어가야만 했습니다. 왜요?

부활이신 예수님이 죽음 안으로 들어가

죽음의 세력과 권세를 깨뜨리고 죽음을 처리하고 일어났습니다.

부활하신 예수님이 죽음을 정복하고 무덤에서 나욌습니다.

그래서 부활이신 예수님이 죽음을 삼켜버렸습니다. 여러분 이것이 부활입니다.

여러분 인간의 죽음은 예수님의 부활을 붙잡을 수도 매여 놓을 수도 없습니다.

이것이 부활의 역사입니다. 부활의 역사는 예수님이 돌 무덤에 묻혀 죽으심으로 우리의

옛 사람, 죄인인 옛 생활이 마감되었습니다. 예수님이 부활하심으로 나를 지배했던

죄의 권세, 사망의 권세가 무너졌습니다. 이것이 부활의 은혜이고 능력입니다.

그러면 어떻게 이 부활을 믿어야 할까?

예수님이 마르다에게 이렇게 말씀했습니다.

25절 예수께서 가라사대 나는 부활이요 생명이니 나를 믿는 자는 죽어도 살겠고

26절 무릇 살아서 나를 믿는 자는 영원히 죽지 아니하리니 이것을 네가 믿느냐

부활은 내 머리로 알고 이해하는 것으로 가능할까? 아닙니다. 부활은 믿는 것입니다.

그렇다면 믿는 것이 무엇일까? 인정하는 것입니다.

여러분 내가 이 세상에 태어난 것을 이해하는 사람이 있습니까?

이것을 증명하기를 원하는 사람이 있을까?

내가 어머니를 통해서 세상에 태어날 때 아버지 그리고 의사가 간호사들이 보았습니다.

그러나 정작 태어난 나는 당시에 자신이 태어 난 것을 알 수 없습니다. 하지만 내가 세상에 태어났습니다. 이것이 사실입니다. 그래 그냥 여기에 있는 내가 나지! 내가 누구이지?

인정합니다. 그래서 부모님이 누구이고? 어디에서 언제 어떻게 태어났어!

이 사실과 사건은 부모님이 내게 들려주신 이야기이기에 내가 듣고 인정합니다.

그런데 이 보다 더 확실하게 확인하게 알아야 돼? 그래서 내가 태어 난 것을 과학적으로

증명하기 위해서 DNA로 조사하고 의학적으로 부모와 내가 일치하고 증명해야만,

내가 그 때 그 장소에 가서 확인해야만 내가 태어 난 것을 믿습니까? 아닙니다.

내가 어디에 이 모습으로 있는 그대로 인정하고 받아들이는 것입니다.

여러분 예수님의 부활도 동일합니다. 예수님이 부활했다. 그래 오늘 성경이 말씀하고 있다. 이것을 있는 그대로 인정하고 받아들이는 것이 바로 부활을 믿는 것입니다.

사실 마르다는 부활을 머리고 지식으로 알고 있었습니다.

그래서 22절 내가 아나이다 24절 내가 아나이다 대답했습니다.

그래서 오늘 본문에서 예수님이 마르다에게 이렇게 질문했습니다.

25절 예수께서 가라사대 나는 부활이요 생명이니 나를 믿는 자는 죽어도 살겠고

26절 무릇 살아서 나를 믿는 자는 영원히 죽지 아니하리니 이것을 네가 믿느냐

이 질문에 마르다가 이렇게 대답했습니다.

27절 가로되 주여 그러하외다 주는 그리스도시요 세상에 오시는 하나님의 아들이신 줄

내가 믿나이다

이 고백은 예수님에 대한 고백 중 가장 완벽한 고백으로 기독교 신앙의 핵심입니다.

여러분 예수님이 누구입니까? 여러분의 고백은 무엇입니까? 나에게 주님은 누구인가?

이 질문은 이 세상 수많은 사람의 운명을 바꿔 놓는 중요한 물음입니다.

여러분 예수님은 그리스도시요 여기에 오신 살아 계신 하나님의 아들이시니이다!

고백하고 믿는 사람이 세상에서 승리합니다. 어떤 문제를 만나더라도 승리합니다.

죽음의 문제까지도 이깁니다. 동시에 영원한 하나님의 나라를 소유합니다.

예수님이 말씀했습니다.

25절 예수께서 가라사대 나는 부활이요 생명이다

여러분 예수님만이 부활이요 생명이십니다. 이것을 믿고 고백하는 믿음이 중요합니다.

여러분 믿으면 죽음을 이깁니다. 죽음을 이기고 부활합니다.

내가 하나님의 은혜와 예수님 부활의 역사에 동참할 수 있는 유일한 코드가 믿음입니다.

그것은 내가 압니다, 이해합니다! 라고 고백하는 것이 아니라 내가 믿습니다!

내가 그대로 인정하고 받아들입니다! 고백하는 것입니다.

여러분 한번 따라합시다. 주여! 내가 믿나이다.

27절 주는 그리스도시요 세상에 오시는 하나님의 아들이신 줄 내가 믿나이다

여러분 예수님이 부활했습니다. 할렐루야!

I am the resurrection and the life

Today is Easter. Today we commemorate the historical fact of the resurrection; that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, was buried in a tomb and rose to life in 3 days. There may be some Christians who question the truth of the resurrection but that doesn’t really matter. Whether they believe it or not, the truth is that Jesus was resurrected.

Even if I do not believe, that does not make the resurrection of Jesus go away. Resurrection of Jesus is real and is a historical fact. It is the same with Lazarus who had died and was a corpse for 4 days before he was brought back to life.

Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. [John 12:1, NIV]

During the time of Jesus, countless number of people, in large crowds, came to see Jesus in Bethany. They also came to Bethany to see Lazarus who had died six days ago and was brought back to life. Lazarus died and was buried in a tomb. Jesus had the tomb opened and he brought Lazarus back from the dead.

Meanwhile a large crowd of Jews found out that Jesus was there and came, not only because of him but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead. [John 12:9, NIV]

Of the four synoptic gospels, today’s story is found only in the book of John. The death and resurrection of Lazarus happens about 2 weeks before the resurrection of Jesus. Why did John include the story of Lazarus in his story?

In raising Lazarus back to life, Jesus involves many people as witnesses to the miraculous event. These included siblings of Lazarus, Martha, Mary, their friends, and the disciples. All of them experienced the miracle of the resurrection as eyewitnesses.

Jesus thus allowed many people to witness Lazarus overcome death and return to life. Through this miracle, Jesus showed that He is the life and the resurrection.

It was shown clearly to the people there that Jesus, the resurrection and the life, was someone who could create miracles. He showed it plainly to the world. And so Lazarus became a person who, through a miracle, defeated death and returned to life.

Of the four synoptic gospels, the book of John was the last one to be written. The twelve disciples of Jesus and the many followers of Jesus saw the resurrected Jesus. The disciples who spent forty days with Jesus after the resurrection began to fall as martyrs under the Roman persecution of Christians. As time passed, the number of remaining disciples continued to decrease. Peter, James, Andrew, John and even Paul, met their martyrdom and it became more and more difficult to hear the message of the gospel from the direct disciples of Jesus. And this led to the weakening of faith among the early Christians.

They began to question things. In response to someone’s declaration that Jesus was

resurrected, some responded asking if they saw if for themselves. You see, these Christians had

not been at the site of the resurrection of Jesus. They only believed in the resurrection because

they were taught by the disciples. But as the disciples met their death, the lack of eyewitnesses

began to chip away at the faith in the resurrection.

Jesus knew that there would be doubt. These are the words of Jesus

27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put

it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”

28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who

have not seen and yet have believed.”

The Purpose of John’s Gospel

30 Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in

this book. 31 But these are written that you may believe[b] that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son

of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. [John 20:27-31, NIV]

And Jesus said these words as he brough Lazarus back to life.

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live,

even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe

this?”

[John 11:25-26, NIV]

Jesus is not speaking just to the early Christians when he says these words. He is asking all

believers and all people on this earth the same question. Do you believe in the resurrection?

What was the resurrection? Jesus died on the cross. Just like Lazarus in today’s passage, Jesus

died and was buried in a tomb.

7 On his arrival, Jesus found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days.

[John 11:7, NIV]

38 Later, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus. Now Joseph was a disciple of

Jesus, but secretly because he feared the Jewish leaders. With Pilate’s permission, he came and

took the body away. 39 He was accompanied by Nicodemus, the man who earlier had visited

Jesus at night. Nicodemus brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds.

40 Taking Jesus’ body, the two of them wrapped it, with the spices, in strips of linen. This was

in accordance with Jewish burial customs.

1. Jesus died

2. 3 days passed since the death of Jesus

3. Jesus’ body was buried wrapped in strips of linen

Jesus died on the cross and was buried in a tomb. Jesus who was buried in the stone tomb is

the resurrection. You see, Jesus had to undergo death and fall under the power of death.

Because Jesus is the resurrection. Jesus the resurrection had to experience death, break

through the power of death, and return back to life. Jesus the resurrection destroyed death. Death no longer had power over the resurrection of Jesus. This is the resurrection story.

My friends. That’s the story. Jesus was crucified and was dead. Death of Jesus was an event of forgiveness and grace that paid for our sins. Our old life of sin ended through the death of Jesus when he was buried in the tomb. And as Jesus was risen back to life, he destroyed the power of sin and death that held dominion over our lives. This is the grace of the resurrection.

My friends. The resurrection is at the core of Christianity. Without resurrection, there is no Christianity. Because of resurrection, there is Christianity. Resurrection is a word that describes life. Resurrection is life. Resurrection and the life is one and the same.

We had only known about the life that must always end in death. But because of resurrection, we now know that death is not the end and that there is life with resurrection.

Jesus says in verse 25 that “I am the resurrection and the life… “

Jesus himself is the resurrection and he is the life.

And we can then say that resurrection and life is Jesus. Just as our hands have two sides, the palm and the back, Jesus is both the resurrection and the life.

How should we then believe in this resurrection? Jesus said these words to Martha:

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” [John 17:25-26, NIV]

You see, the resurrection is a thing of faith. It is not something for us to analyze and understand. What does it mean to believe? It is to simply recognize it as the truth.

My friends. Do you how you came to be born on this earth? Does it require scientific proof to know that you were actually born? No. You simply recognize that you exist.

Who are our parents and when were we born? Well we know these things because our parents told us. Did we need to see the proof of DNA tests to see that our DNA matched those of our parents? No. We simply accept them as our parents.

It’s the same way with Jesus and the resurrection. Jesus has risen. The bible tells us that today. And as we recognize that as the truth, we accept and believe in the resurrection. Once again, Jesus tells Martha these things and questions her:

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” [John 17:25-26, NIV]

And Mattha answers:

27 “Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” [John 17:27, NIV]

This is the ultimate and complete confession of our faith. This confession sits at the core of our Christian faith.

My friends. Who is Jesus? What is your confession? Who is Jesus to you?

These are questions that have life changing consequences.

My friends. Jesus is the Christ. He is the son of the living God!

Those who believe will experience victory in life. They will overcome all things, even death. And they will inherit the kingdom of God.

Jesus is the Christ, the son of the living God. Yes, I believe this.

This confession holds the most important place in our lives and in the history of the church. This confession provides the answers to the nature of mankind and the origin of our lives.

Resurrection does have a pre-requisite. Death is required. It is difficult for us to accept the fact of the resurrection because it’s difficult for us to believe that death can be overcome. This issue will continue to be with humanity as it’s not something that can be resolved by us.

Since the time of Adam and Even when life began with God’s breath, there are none, other than a small number mentioned in the bible, who managed to escape or overcome death. No matter how great the person’s accomplishments, they were powerless before death. There is no one who is able to escape death.

But, through Jesus, there is a path to victory over death. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life.”

My friends. Jesus is the resurrection and the life. You need to believe and confess to this. If you believe, you will be victorious. The single key to our participation in the history of God’s grace and the resurrected Jesus is faith, It’s not a statement claiming that we know or understand. It is the confession of our belief.

Let us say it together. Lord Jesus, we believe.
